Imran Madden, UK Director of Islamic Relief, said:

“Following the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower, Islamic Relief responded immediately to support the local community and authorities working on the ground by sending a team to assist. Our staff and volunteers distributed 6,000 bottles of water and clothes within hours and have remained there since this tragedy unfolded providing help and support as well as helping with distributions on the ground.”

“We have also made available £10,000 from our Global Emergency Fund to help those affected by this disaster based on the needs on the ground.”

“We will continue to provide support and have set up a Launchgood page where people can donate funds to help those affected by this horrific event.”

“People can also donate via our website to our UK Emergencies fund.”

“Yesterday evening, we did a joint Facebook Live appeal for funds in partnership with Muslim Aid.”

“As a London based charity, Islamic Relief UK has its roots firmly planted in the local community. Many of us know people in the building or know someone who has been affected in some way by this and our thoughts and prayers remain with everyone affected by the fire.”
