“There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.”

As Muslims, we are blessed with numerous opportunities throughout the year to earn Allah’s (SWT) favour and mercy. Among these, the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah hold a special place, known as the 10 Best Days. During this sacred period, we are encouraged and required to dedicate more time to acts pleasing to Allah (SWT). This includes Dhikr (remembrance), Salah (prayer), and Sadaqah (charitable donations). The Prophet Muhammad () emphasised the superiority of these days for good deeds, noting that Allah (SWT) loves acts of worship performed during this time more than any other.

Essential practices during these days include increased Dhikr, voluntary prayers, Quran recitation, fasting, and giving in charity. The 9th day, the Day of Arafah, is particularly significant. Fasting on this day expiates sins of the past and the coming year. These days then conclude with Eid al-Adha on the 10th. A day commemorating Prophet Ebrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of devotion and obedience to Allah.
