The blessed month of Ramadan is upon us and together we embark on a journey of an unprecedented time in history due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are on the front lines in over 30 countries, just like we have been with every major disaster since 1984, delivering food, water and emergency relief. We need your help to reach out to the most vulnerable people.
“Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity.”
We know that these times are tough on everyone, but the Messenger of Allah (SAW) has given us the assurance that Sadaqah protects us from calamity and illness. He even told us that giving charity increases our sustenance! Sub’han-Allah! Allah is indeed the Most Generous.
Last year, your Zakat changed the lives of over 900 000 people. It is your Zakat that provided immediate emergency aid and helped fight poverty through sustainable change. In the face of hunger, conflict and isolation, your donations helped break the cycle of poverty and build healthier, stronger communities.
Together we have provided life-saving emergency relief in countries like Syria, Somalia, Yemen, Pakistan, and many other countries around the world. Your Zakat helped the poorest people have access to clean water and earn an income. Your donations provided medicines for the elderly, sick, and wounded. You also provided care and support to widows, orphans and vulnerable children.
“And whoever saved a life, it would be as if he had saved mankind entirely”
This Ramadan, millions around the world face an enormous struggle to survive. Despite the pandemic, Islamic Relief is still working around the world, making sure your donations get to those who need it most. Share your Zakat to relieve their hunger, to quench their thirst, to ease their burden and to end their struggle.
Please don’t wait, your help is needed now more than ever.
