Islamic Relief has been implementing the Qurbani Programme for over 30 years. We act as an agent on behalf of the donor to fulfill this act of worship. Islamic Relief takes this obligation very seriously as the conditions to ensure the validity and also the acceptability of the sacrifice are very specific.
In 2020, Islamic Relief was able to reach out to 3 305 249 rights-holders during the blessed month of DhulHijjah. Our global team implemented 175 650 Qurbanisand distributed 578 833 meat packs.
This Sacred Sacrifice is symbolic of our submission to Allah (SWT) and is inherently charitable in its command of sharing the meat with those in need.
At Islamic Relief, we are committed to providing assistance to the most vulnerable in our communities and by sharing this sacred sacrifice with us. We will ensure that your Qurbani is share with orphans, widows, the elderly, the disabled, female-led households, and also the less unfortunate.
During these times of substantial tribulations in countries ravaged by conflict, natural disasters, and poverty, the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated the plight of people in need. This may be the only time families will be able to eat meat for the entire year, alhamdulillah.
The Prophet (saw) said, ‘Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity’. [Tirmidhi]
The world is grappling with the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. This reinforces the global lockdowns which have adversely affected the economic situation of vulnerable communities. More people are dependent on aid than ever before and your Qurbani can help them celebrate the days of EidulAdha while earning immeasurable rewards from Allah (SWT).
‘The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever’. [Bukhari]
Your Qurbani is a gesture of compassion, consideration, and concern. It demonstrates your solidarity with impoverished and war-torn communities that their sufferings have not been forgotten.
Did You Know?
The Prophet (ﷺ) would offer his (ﷺ)obligatory Qurbani and then offer a second Qurbani for those in his (ﷺ) Ummah who were unable to do so themselves.
‘The Prophet (saw) sacrificed for the one who could not sacrifice from his Ummah, one who bore witness to the Oneness of Allah and [his] Prophethood’. [Tabarani and Ahmad]
By giving an extra Qurbani this year, you will earn the reward of following the Sunnah. This will surely elevate your blessings by feeding a family in need.
‘Whoever revives a Sunnah of mine that dies out after I am gone, he will have a reward equivalent to that of those among the people who act upon it, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest’. [Ibn Majah]
Give your Qurbani with Islamic Relief and elevate your reward. Share the blessings of this sacred act with families in need. Make an impact and reach more homes in need while earning the pleasure of Allah (SWT).
