The #Riding4SAeducation 2018 campaign is once again about to hit the roads of South Africa, drumming up awareness and support for learners in the country suffering from a lack of resources.
By empowering and educating our children in these early and vulnerable years of their life, we can together leave a lasting and sustainable contribution to the development of South Africa.
Our ride this year will take us along the following route: Polokwane-Mokopane-Modimolle-Bela Bela-Atteridgeville-Rustenburg-Zeerust-Mahikeng-Vryburg-Lichtenburg-Klerksdorp-Potchefstroom-Lenasia.
Starting on the 11 of February 2018 in Polokwane, Salaamedia and Salaam Foundation participants will be joined by riders from the Africa Muslims Agency, Nyota Collections, Al Ihya Foundation and Islamic Relief South Africa.
The total route this year will cover a distance of approximately 1162km. The ride will culminate on the 25 February 2018 with a Mountain Bike Race and Family Farm Market on a farm just outside Lenasia.
Last year Salaamedia and Salaam Foundation ran a successful inaugural #Riding4SAeducation campaign. Travelling across the length and breadth of South Africa, close to 1000 pairs of school shoes, 2500 stationery packs, school uniforms, hundreds of reusable sanitary pads and even a Computer Lab sponsored by the Jamiatul Ulama South Africa reached the most deserving learners.
By bringing on various organisations this year we wish to show a united effort for a common cause towards South African education.
Each participating organisation has been running various educational development programmes within their own scope of expertise.
The funds generated through the #Riding4SAeducation campaign will be used in these campaigns to enhance the excellent work being done by these organisations.
We look forward to visiting your town soon. Get your kids involved. Get your school involved. Get your community involved and join #Riding4SAeducation2018.
