All it takes is one act of kindness, and sincere passion!

Being a Fundraiser and being employed at an NGO gives you an opportunity to change people’s lives, including your own. When you are at the front-line assisting and reaching out to those most vulnerable and witnessing firsthand how we take basic necessities for granted and how they wish they had a percent of what we have.

My job is not a job it’s a mission and my passion.

Seeing the youth and getting them involved is very important to me , for they are our future leaders.

As a volunteer it prides me to see my contribution has made a difference in my community. Knowing that you made a positive impact on someone is an emotionally uplifting experience that can never be matched by money or fame.

For me from the start of the lock down and the weeks that followed leading into Ramadan has been a roller coaster , with so many mixed emotions . Do you smile because you’re helping others , or do you cry because you don’t know how long that food hamper will last . What we take for granted they don’t. The entire globe is effected by the pandemic ,it brings a sense of relief to know that Islamic Relief is responding and constantly assessing the situation to see where the need is. And through our staff and volunteers we will keep making a difference and saving lives in our communities and the most vulnerable communities across the world. Insha’Allah. After all, we are one Ummah!

It brings a sense of warmth and fulfillment knowing that through our volunteers, donors, and communities we have had a successful Ramadan which provides us with the tools to assist in remote areas in South Africa, Yemen , Syria and Gaza, and over 30 more countries across the globe.

This Ramadan was a very different one, yet calm and spiritually uplifting. Islamic Relief SA hosted an exciting Ramadan Challenge and we thank the contestants who came onboard and participated as well as assisted in raising awareness of our projects, and the big need out there. At the same time being able to have fun with their family while home bound. Contestants poured their hearts and souls into raising funds for Islamic Relief South Africa’s Ramadan 2020 campaign.

A huge thank you to our volunteers who tirelessly came out , whether it was to call a donor , assist with packaging or merely just their presence and support. Their loving ,kind , caring, and sincere hearts is what allows us to be where we are today.

Thank You!
