Islamic Relief’s popular nasheed and comedy series – Evening of Inspiration – is back and promises to be better than ever as we celebrate 15 years of service to humanity in 2019!
World renowned nasheed artist, Zain Bhikha, is the headliner. He marks a phenomenal 25 years in the industry.
He will be joined on stage by two very special international comedians, Ali Official (UK) and the much-loved Omar Regan (USA).
This year’s event will feature a new stage play, written and produced by Zain Bhikha.
This “Storytime with Zain Bhikha” will showcase some of his popular nasheeds which will be performed by learners from various schools in each region.
The Evening of Inspiration is also an opportunity for Islamic Relief to raise much needed funds for our projects that support the empowerment and well-being of orphans and vulnerable children in South Africa.

Described as an influential global peace and unity ambassador, Zain Bhikha has served as an inspiration to people the world. Since he first began his singing in 1994, his audience continues to grow 25 years later.
He is well-loved by fans young and old and remains amongst the most popular Islamic artists. Zain’s albums have been launched in all major cities and he has performed across most continents.
His passion for teaching and uplifting the lives of young children towards God-consciousness has been at the centre of many of his albums, plays and youth workshops.
Zain Bhikha resides in Johannesburg, where he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and four sons.
Omar Regan was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He started writing songs at the age of 9 but found his passion when he jumped on stage as a stand-up comic in 1999.
In 2001 Regan was offered and accepted the role as Photo Double for Chris Tucker in Rush Hour 2 but has since gone on to become an international sensation, winning audiences as far as England, Ireland, Scotland, South Africa, Australia, China, Malaysia, Zimbabwe Saudi Arabia, Dubai and more.
He established his own production called HALALYWOOD as means to use entertainment and humour to promote tolerance, diversity, and to build bridges across racial, religious, and social divides.
Ali Official is a content creator and stand-up comedian who has generated over 100 million views across his social media platforms.
His hilarious and accurate online sketches tap into observational patterns and cultural truths that unite people from all across the world.
Ali has performed across UK, America and Canada. He won 2018’s Best Video Channel at the Asian Media Awards and has written and starred in his new BBC show called “Muzlamic” which releases later this year.
