Double your donations for Gaza on the Islam Channel
A year ago Gaza was shaken to its foundations by an intense 50-day conflict that began in the second week of Ramadan, killing over 2,200 people and destroying over 10,000 homes. Through our Islam Channel live appeal we are appealing to the huge generosity of the British Muslim public to help the war-weary children and young people of Gaza rebuild their lives.
And the good news is that we can double your donations with match funding from Educate a Child, in aid of education projects in Gaza. This is part of an exciting new partnership with Educate a Child that we are launching for the last 15 days of Ramadan. It means that for this live appeal we can assist more children and young people in Gaza because of EAC’s support.
We welcome donations large and small – and supersize! – to this appeal. Because the needs are enormous and the young people of Gaza deserve our support.
A third of Palestinians are under the age of 14, compared to 18% of the population in the UK. We’re helping children and young people in a variety of ways – from orphan sponsorship to apprenticeships, and from trauma counselling to artificial limbs for those severely affected by the conflict.
In tonight’s appeal:
£100 provides a family life pack to one of Gaza’s most vulnerable families
£250 provides a child with an education
£750 funds an apprenticeship to help a young person find work
£1,500 provides an artificial limb
£3,500 funds the building of a new home for an orphaned child
And thanks to EAC, £100 becomes £200 and £3,500 becomes £7,000 – helping us to transform more young lives.
Our appeal is on air from 9pm on the Islam Channel – Sky channel 806 and FreeSat 693. Please spread the word, and please give generously.
