Position Title: Community Liaison Officer

Organisation: Islamic Relief South Africa

Location: Cape Town, South Africa

Vacancies Available: Two

Reports to: Orphans and Child Welfare Officer

Purpose of the Position

  • Collect orphan’s data

Main Accountability

  • Maintain updated and accurate data on orphans’ status and needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct registration and home visits for new registered orphans.
  • Conduct home visits for sponsored orphans (a minimum of one visit annually), follow up their progress, collect data, prepare annual progress reports (APRs) according to IRPAL program policies and procedures
  • Carry out the necessary office work, including orphans’ files keeping and archiving according to IRPAL policies and procedures
  • Organize and facilitate awareness and learning sessions/ workshops for orphans and guardians.
  • Participate in IRPAL activities and projects targeting orphans implemented by OSP or other projects/ programs
  • Carry out other responsibilities and duties within reason as requested by line manager.
  • Assist with distribution of monthly food vouchers.

Skills Required

  • Proficiency in English, Khosa and/or Afrikaans
