Muslim Climate Action, the Muslim Charities Forum and Islamic Relief would like to invite you to a timely workshop on the UN’s Sustainable Development goals, with a particular focus on climate change and environmental sustainability from an Islamic perspective.
2016 onwards is a key time for work on climate change and despite the numerous Muslim charities in the UK; most are not engaged in the activity or debates around climate change, although through their programmes they are deeply involved in the issues related to climate change.
This one-day workshop will brief you on the importance of the Post 2015 Agenda, climate change and environmental sustainability and the key debates that are currently taking place in this area of work. The morning session will open with a briefing on the SDGs and climate change from an Islamic perspective, while the afternoon session will focus on how charities can consider environmental sustainability and climate change as part of their programmes.
Lunch and room for prayer will be provided.
Registration for this workshop is essential as places are limited. A maximum of two representatives per organisation will be permitted to register.
