Improving livelihoods and providing hope for a brighter future
Imagine the struggle of families living in a life of poverty, without the means of funding futures, facing a daily struggle for survival and the question of where to turn to next? Well, for the 1 in 10 people worldwide living in poverty, this is a reality.
Without the means to buy tools, seeds, crops, purchase animals and invest in business, sustainable livelihoods and earning an income are almost an impossibility for vulnerable communities worldwide. However, there is hope! By funding futures for those impacted by poverty, you are helping to build brighter futures across the world.
“Who will lend Allah a good loan so that He can increase it many times?”
Qur’an | 2:245
The impact of poverty across the world
In 2021, a staggering 698 million people, or 9% of the global population were estimated to be living in extreme poverty. In economic terms, that’s less than $1.90 a day, while over one-fifth of the global population live below the higher $3.20 poverty line (1,803 million people), and over two-fifths (3,293 million people) live below $5.50 a day.
This means that huge populations across the world don’t have access to even the most basic of necessities, such as food, water, shelter, health and medical care, livelihoods, education, and sanitation. A deficiency in any one of these life-lines has a compounding effect on the lives of so many.
Funding futures is essential to help vulnerable families break out of poverty.
