Position Identification

Position Title: Human Resources Administrative Assistant

Organisation: Islamic Relief South Africa

Location: Johannesburg

Contract: Fixed term with view to permanent

Reports to: Human Resource Coordinator

 

Purpose of Position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to assist the HR Coordinator in the day-to-day operations of our HR department. The Assistant to the HR Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting the HR coordinator and ensuring that all HR processes and procedures are carried out smoothly and efficiently.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the HR Coordinator with the recruitment process, including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new hires
  • Maintain HR records and databases, including employee files, payroll records, and benefits information
  • Help to coordinate employee training and development programs
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives and events
  • Answer employee inquiries and provide support with HR-related issues
  • Participate in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Perform other HR-related duties as needed
 

Qualification & Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in an HR or administrative role
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Commitment to excellence and attention to detail
  • Fluency in English is required; additional indigenous language skills is a plus
