Islamic Relief has been saving lives since 1984. This year we asked you to join us in our mission to save and change the lives of vulnerable children and families affected by conflict and natural disasters across the world.
Alhamdulillah, because of your generous support, Islamic Relief once again received millions of pounds in donations during the blessed month of Ramadan to help fund vital emergency projects in more than 30 countries.
What are we doing with the millions you donated?
The Prophet (PBUH) said: “He does not truly believe who eats his fill while his neighbour remains hungry by his side.” (Bayhaqi)
Compassion and understanding are the essence of this hadith, reminding us to show empathy and kindness to those less fortunate than ourselves. By sharing your wealth with those living in poverty and who would benefit from your support, you – our donors – show your commitment to this principle.
Thanks to your support, Islamic Relief has delivered lifesaving aid to more than one million people in 35 countries this Ramadan, SubhanAllah! This includes food assistance in some of the most hard-to-reach places in Myanmar, Somalia and Syria.
Yemen is in crisis as it faces the world’s worst cholera outbreak and Islamic Relief is working there to save lives and prevent further spread of the infectious disease by providing people with the necessary medicines, hygiene kits and safe sources of drinking water. We are also managing current confirmed cases of cholera at some of the country’s health facilities.
Responding to intense conflict in Mosul
In the city of Mosul, Islamic Relief Iraq is supporting 36,000 people with emergency food assistance. Much-needed aid has been given to those remaining in Western Mosul, where the intense conflict has left thousands exposed and vulnerable, and to families in Eastern Mosul, where violence and conflict saw them flee their homes in search of safety.
We are overwhelmed by your generosity this Ramadan. Thank you for your support.
